The Brief
What the client asked for
A Dubai Hills resident working from home full-time wanted a sit-stand desk after months of back pain from a fixed-height table, but needed it to support dual monitors without the desktop flexing at full extension.
The challenge
Most imported standing desks either use a laminate top that visibly bows under two monitor arms at full height, or ship with a motor too weak to lift smoothly once fully loaded — both common complaints with mass-market electric desks.
What we built
We paired a solid bamboo top — stiffer than laminate at the same thickness — with a dual-motor steel lift frame rated well above the combined monitor and arm-mount weight, tested at full extension before delivery. A hidden cable tray under the desktop keeps the cabling from tangling as the desk moves up and down.
