What Does a Custom Walk-in Closet Cost in Dubai?

Custom walk-in closets in Dubai typically run from about AED 7,000 for a compact layout to AED 45,000 for a large villa dressing room. Price follows the size of the room, the door and surface finish, the number of drawers and pull-outs, and the lighting. The main cost driver is how much storage you build, not the floor area alone.

Two of our own projects give a realistic picture. A roughly 9 sqm L-shaped walk-in in Dubai Marina, floor-to-ceiling walnut veneer with an island unit, typically runs AED 18,000 to AED 28,000. A 12+ sqm villa dressing room in Arabian Ranches with continuous solid oak storage, an angled shoe rack, a felt-lined tie drawer and a central island typically costs AED 30,000 to AED 45,000.

How Much Space Do You Need for a Walk-in Closet?

A walk-in closet works comfortably from roughly 2m x 1.5m. At that size you can run storage along two walls and still walk in. A layout with storage on three walls and a central island needs more room, so the island is usually reserved for larger spare rooms and villa dressing rooms.

Smaller or awkward rooms are still workable. We have built a continuous run that follows an L-shaped room wall to wall, so no floor space is lost in the angled corner. The right layout is decided on site after we measure, not from a catalogue template.

Planning the Layout: Hanging, Drawers, Shoes and Island

We plan the interior from what you own. That means setting the balance of long-hang for dresses and coats, double-hang for shirts and trousers, drawers, adjustable shelves and shoe storage around your actual wardrobe, then placing the rails at heights where nothing drags on the shelf below.

Common additions include a central island with drawers, a seating bench, a full-length mirror, a pull-out laundry hamper, a lockable drawer or safe recess for valuables, jewellery trays and a felt-lined tie drawer. Motion-sensor LED strips light the interior when a door opens and are especially useful in rooms without natural light.

Materials and Hardware Built for UAE Humidity

We build carcasses from HMR (high-moisture-resistant) board and MR-MDF rather than ordinary particleboard, which swells in humid homes, and seal exposed edges with matching PVC edge-banding. Door and surface finishes include laminate, acrylic, lacquered MDF and natural wood veneer, and you can mix finishes, for example wood veneer on the outside with a gloss-white interior.

Hinges and drawer runners are European soft-close hardware from Blum or Hettich, so doors and drawers close silently. Mirrored, fluted-glass and fabric-panelled doors are also available.

Fitting Out a Bare Villa Dressing Room

Many Dubai villas are handed over with a dressing-room shell and nothing inside. We design the full storage system from scratch around the real room dimensions, from the first measurement through production and installation by our own team.

The process is the same across Dubai and Sharjah: a free home visit and measurement, a 3D design and itemised quote within 3 to 5 working days, then production of about 15 to 25 working days depending on size and finish. A large walk-in typically takes one to two days to install.
