The Brief
What the client asked for
A Mirdif family with two school-age children shared a single bedroom needed to fit two beds, a study area, and storage into a room barely large enough for one queen bed.
The challenge
Off-the-shelf bunk beds either skip the desk entirely or bolt on a flimsy fold-down table; most also use ladder stairs with no storage, wasting the one part of a bunk frame that could double as drawer space.
What we built
We built a bunk frame in solid pine with a full study desk built into the lower level's footprint, and replaced the ladder with wide storage stairs — each step opens as a drawer for toys and clothes. Non-toxic, child-safe paint and steel safety rails on the upper bunk meet the safety standard the parents specifically asked for.
