The Brief
What the client asked for
An Al Taawun family wanted a traditional Majlis seating arrangement for hosting large family gatherings — low, continuous seating along the walls rather than a Western-style sofa arrangement.
The challenge
Ready-made Majlis sets are sold in fixed lengths that rarely match a specific room's wall dimensions, forcing families to either leave gaps or cut corners on cushion density in the sections that get made-to-fit.
What we built
We built the seating base and back cushions to the exact wall-to-wall measurements of the room, upholstered in a premium velvet the client selected, over the same high-density foam used across our full seating range so no section is under-filled. Matching floor cushions and bolster armrests were added to complete the traditional arrangement.
