What Moves the Price of a Bed
1. The mechanism
A fixed platform is the cheapest build. Drawers add runners and carcass work. A hydraulic lift base adds the gas-lift hardware and a reinforced frame, which is why it sits at the top of the range.
2. Size
King and super-king beds use more board and a heavier frame. Non-standard sizes typically add roughly 15–25% over a queen equivalent in materials. The advantage of made-to-measure is that odd sizes (a small master bedroom, a mattress already bought) cost a fair premium rather than being impossible.
3. Headboard and finish
A plain painted headboard is the baseline. Upholstery, panelling, backlighting and veneer all add labour. Fabric grade is the biggest swing for upholstered beds.
4. Board quality
Moisture-resistant MDF or plywood carcasses cost more than basic particleboard but survive UAE humidity and daily load much better. Ask what the box is made of before comparing two quotes.
Storage Beds in Dubai: Is It Worth It?
In a typical Dubai apartment, a storage bed replaces a chest of drawers or part of a wardrobe — often the most useful way to gain floor space in a bedroom. Drawer storage suits frequently used items; a hydraulic lift suits bulky bedding and luggage that you access less often. Compare the cost of the bed against the furniture it replaces, not against a plain bed.

Kids' and bunk beds usually run AED 3,000–8,000 depending on configuration. L-shaped and desk-integrated loft designs sit at the top of that range because of the extra joinery and the load calculations for the desk cantilever. King Size Bed Price in the UAE
For a custom king size, expect the upper half of the platform and upholstered ranges above, depending on headboard and storage. Measure your room first: a king bed plus bedside tables needs clear walking space on both sides.
