The Brief
What the client asked for
A Business Bay resident running a consultancy from home needed a proper executive desk for video calls with clients — something that read as a real office, not a laptop table pushed against a wall.
The challenge
The room's corner layout meant a standard rectangular desk left an awkward dead zone behind the chair, and most L-shaped desks on the market are veneer-wrapped chipboard that doesn't hold up to daily laptop and monitor weight.
What we built
We built the desk from solid walnut with a leather-inlaid writing surface and a routed channel under the desktop that hides every cable from the camera's view during calls. A matching walnut bookshelf was built into the corner return, turning the dead space into display and storage.
